There are many more of these communities across the world. We would like to hear from any of you who could send us photos to publish the site mail: editor@off-grid.net. Click for more photos on next page.

We are really keen to hear from you if you live off the grid, in a commune or a single household situation.

I noticed that this site has quite a few rainwater harvesting case studies. For anyone interested in this area, my company (SUD Solutions) has recently released a state-of-the-art hydraulic and costing assessment tool for rainwater harvesting systems called RainCycle. A demo version of the program is freely downloadable from our website, which is at: www.SUDSolutions.com

how lovely to read your comment. Such insight into the ways that have been handed down the generations that we have sadly lost. These were made by peoples who knew true gifts, and one day we also will be again either welcomed back to them or forced back to them. Ours is the choice how we view the 'invitation'
to see some astounding pictures and theories of the nature of water please see Dr. Emoto http://www.masaru-emoto.net/

This information really takes hold when you think we are what 80-90% water. (sorry vague as to quantities ;) )
but it shows - we are what we believe us to be, and goes some way into explaining the ills of society.... maybe

There is an old spanish tradition of using an olive oil concoction. I will get the recipe. All I know is that it is easy to make, looks gloopy and makes your washing smell great!!! better than surf jiji
Will post recipe when mate comes back to uk next week.

I am all for the bargain hunter in us, but feel there is something more meaningful ,and more fufilling in giving something simple yet cheap to someone. I was both amused and endeared by Danny Wallis on tv some years back. He appeared as a cameo on Matthew Wright's Wright stuff, advertising his new site - www.join-me.co.uk.
He introduced his site using a story of a old man who loved peanuts, but lived a normal pensioners life on a state pension (ie nada). He, as a result of the site, recieved many hundreds of packets of peanuts totally by surprise through his letterbox anonamously.
Bragains are one thing - giving to someone surprise and joy another. This is how joy and trust spreads
